Triplex Model Shoe

Triplex Model Shoe
I was required to create a one to one ratio of my shoe of choice out of triplex board , I decided to make a replica of my black converse. The shoe should be made only utilising the triplex and keeping it in it’s original white state.
Activity 1: Full Model Shoe
The tools that were used was white triplex board (A2) , a 600mm metal ruler, highlighter , pencil , masking tape, craft knife, cutting mat , paper clip , scissors and bostik glue. The process of assembly required creating templates of sections of the shoe by covering the shoe in masking tape section by section. This allowed me to get accurate measurements of the specific part of the shoe I wanted. The challenges I faced were getting the two holes on the side of the shoe cut to an accurate size as well as getting the , triplex to curve perfectly to replicate the curves on my converse
Activity 2 : Half shoe
For activity 2 we had to replicate our chosen shoe just as in activity one but this time it had to be a “half shoe” meaning that the shoe had to be cut lengthways down the middle. With better understanding of triplex this project went much more quicker with less complications. The inside of the shoe as well as the outside had to be neatly created to the best of our ability
Activity 3 : Shoe Mould
For this last activity we were tasked to create a mould of half our chosen footwear mine being a converse. The aim was to create a mould that the real shoe could fit in perfectly. It was challenging to get the dimensions correct with this triplex activity as well as keeping the shape of the shoe correct. It was hard to create and in-vision a negative space model.
